Wick Selection Guidance
Para-soy blends generally burn a little hotter than 100% soy, so wicks often size down slightly compared to a straight soy recipe. As a starting point for testing:
- 2.5" diameter vessel: Start with a small-to-medium wick and adjust from there.
- 3" diameter vessel: Start with a medium wick.
- 3.5"+ diameter vessel: Consider a larger wick or a double-wick layout.
These are starting points only. Always burn test every combination of wax, fragrance, dye, and vessel — dyes and heavy fragrance loads both change how a wick performs.
BW 908 vs. 100% Soy: Which Should You Use?
Choose BW 908 when scent throw and a flawless single-pour top matter most, or when your candles need to survive warm-weather shipping. Choose a 100% soy wax such as BW 929 or Golden Brands 464 when you need an all-natural claim for your product labelling. Many makers keep both on hand and choose by product line.
Whether you're a small-batch creator or a professional candle manufacturer, BW 908 gives you the reliability and refined finish needed to build a consistent container candle line.
